“I’m really happy with my order and the customer service and communication I received from Kaslo. Shipping to Toronto took about a week, which was what I expected. I stopped eating pasta about four years ago—tough, since I love it—after being diagnosed as pre-diabetic and needing to get a better handle on carbs and sugar. Since then, I’ve been searching for good pasta alternatives, but none of the options I tried really worked for me. Either I didn’t like the taste or they weren’t low-glycemic enough for my needs. Then, this summer, I discovered fermented sourdough pasta and haven’t looked back. Kaslo Pasta works for me, and I couldn’t be more excited about it! “The pasta is quite wonderful. My wife has wheat sensitivity, but she can eat my sourdough bread. Digression: When I first came to Canada, in 1970, from the USA (yes, I was one of those...), my first two summers were spent in the Gaspé working in a bakery. In 1971, I acquired some San Francisco sourdough starter, which I have been using ever since to make the bread that we eat in our home. We have been working with pasta made from other sources than wheat, e.g., rice and lentils. I have even made my own pasta from chickpeas; it was good, but I really prefer wheat based pasta. Your pasta fermentata is just what I ordered: a wheat based pasta, built with a foundation of sourdough so my wife can eat it without having to suffer unwanted consequences. Thank you so much. “Today we cooked up the linguine. When it was close to done we tossed in some garlic scapes ( split lengthwise ). Once done we drained it and put it in our pasta bowl, a healthy glug of olive oil, tossed and served. We like to top our pasta with toasted panko breadcrumbs spiced with paprika and lemon zest. We really enjoyed this pasta, served alongside some Hasselback eggplant and grilled bambino sausages. Feel free to use the photos or quote me!!”

“Hello! I appreciate SO much the gifted radiatori...here is tonight's meal, with prego brand pesto sauce, chicken, peas, home grown garlic and parmesan cheese. My husband suggested I add some detail to our Kaslo visit! We had a short stay at Ainsworth hot springs, where the breakfast featured memorable, amazing French toast..I asked the server about the bread, and we were directed to a grocery store up the road in Kaslo. On display were bags of your pasta....we purchased several, then continued through town to enjoy touring the Moyie, and the many really lovely parts of Kaslo. We continued our road trip to other hot springs, the town of Nelson, and sights along Kootenai Lake as we wound our way back to our home state of Washington. We gave one of our bags of pasta to our son in Colorado, and I know he and his wife are as impressed as we were, and continue to order Kaslo pasta. Thanks for putting such a wonderful product on the market for so many people to enjoy...its impossible to return to the many ordinary pastas out there after feasting on Kaslo sourdough pasta...! “We have really enjoyed our Kaslo sourdough pasta. My wife said she did not feel like she had swallowed a ball of lead afterwards (which is how she usually feels after eating pasta). It cooked up beautifully and tasted great. “Thanks for reaching out. I am so happy to be using your product. I belong to an online group on FB for Canadian Diabetics and one of the members recommended your pasta. As you may or may not be aware, things like pasta, rice, bread etc are removed from the diet of diabetics because of “spiking” their blood glucose. I am able to eat your product, of course, watching portion control without getting increased numbers when testing. I recently made a turkey soup and added some of the rotini pasta, it was fabulous. I definitely will be buying again! While still high in carbs the sourdough I believe is keeping everything in check. The taste of the pasta is fabulous!”

“I really love your sourdough pasta. I live in Ontario and bought 2 brown paper bags of radiatori online after sampling them while staying with my daughter in Slocan, not too far away from you. They were delivered promptly and exceeded my expectation. I have made three meals from them thus far. Six minutes cooking time is perfect for slightly al dente, and the radiator shape is great for collecting up lots of sauce. I live alone and it makes a quick and easy meal. Even the leftovers taste great reheated in the microwave. And no tummy issues! I gave up eating regular pasta years ago due to wheat sensitivity. Your pasta far surpasses the taste and texture of the alternatives made from rice, corn and beans . pasta. I will never go back to those! As I say, I live alone, so I now have enough pasta to last a year. I should probably have ordered the mix! Thank you for your product. And all the very best with your business.”
“I did get the order and am enjoying it very much. I had previously picked your pasta up from my local Safeway but have been disappointed with the lack of enthusiasm for it from other shoppers which has resulted in a small inventory left to gather dust on the shelves. It is probably the price which I don't consider too high at all because the product is so good, but many of the customers in that store are older people on a limited income. So that is why I went to you directly. It will take my husband and me some time to consume all of the pasta but at least it is on our shelf and ready to eat. It is a great product and I have shared some of our valuable packages with people who appreciate good pasta. But not too many, I assure you. In simple terms, her body cannot break down fat to convert it to energy. Among other things, what this means for her is a heavily restricted diet, with very little fat. I stumbled across your pasta on the shelves of Safeway one day while flipping every box over to read the nutrition labels, seeing if it will fit in to her allotted daily fat (3g per a day). You can imagine my excitement when your label read “1g of fat for 80g of pasta”. On top of having a fat restricted diet , but needing to meet the daily fat goal, my daughter is an extremely picky eater. What she likes one day, she will throw on the ground the next. Your pasta has been her dinner, every night, for the last 6 months. She has never refused it, and in fact runs to her highchair when she knows it’s dinner time. I will never be able to put in to words the anxiety and frustrations I have when it comes to finding foods for my daughter. I can always rest assured that no matter what happens at breakfast or lunch time, that dinner time will always be a win for her, and that’s all thanks to you guys !
